Memory Displays Project

Memory Displays Project Description

    • Description - Manufacture and distribute wholesale and custom products to display sports, entertainment, and other memorabilia for home and office.

      • Although the currently available products for displaying memorabilia are minimal, we will manufacture and decorate all products to a higher quality and design level of any future competition.
      • Manufacturing and design utilizes all the new design and manufacturing technology.
      • The purpose of proper display of memorabilia are talking points and office ice-breakers. The problem we are solving is how to begin social and business interactions
      • Customers emotional connection creates a desire to have their memorabilia displayed prominently. More than one item too. We are solving their problem to enjoy their memorabilia matching their emotional attachment.
      • Increasing the marginal utility of MemoryDisplays.com - since we already have a memorabilia customer base other display and non-display products can be sold including apparel.
    • Goals

      • Sell $10 million of products annually

      • Manufacture everything internally or under direct control for maximum profit

      • Completely automated accounting for monthly statements for investors

      • Establish both wholesale and custom retail channels

    • Competitive advantage - Ability to manufacture products not currently available, highly creative, properly priced, and highly unusual.

      • Competitions' current offerings are plain and unattractive (see their websites).
      • Internally we are an engineering company utilizing modern manufacturing techniques making competition hard or impossible.
      • As both manufacturer and distributor we gather the profit from both.
    • American made products

      • The type product and the production runs make locally made products desireable. My fulfillment center is located in central Pennsylvania and near many manufacturing facilities.
    • Distribution - We have built-in distribution ready with the fulfillment center I own. I have been building e-commerce systems for our own ecommerce for 15 years including accounting, inventory and warehouse management, shipping, and customer service.

      • I own a 6,000 sq. ft. fulfillment center in operation for 15 years. It's like starting on 3rd base.
      • Wholesale distribution direct to resellers ordered through website
      • Private label products for distributors.
      • Custom products are direct to customers or through interior designers via website
      • Retail customers do not see wholesale productsThe importance of being better than the square box with wood base and acrylic cover cannot be overemphasized as a comptitive advantage. Below are photos of products showing possibilities with paper and wood media. Click here for sketches of possible products.
          • Cardboard Zamboni

The above items are made from paper!

Wood products shown here were produced on 5 axis router mill controlled by computer - making them reproduceable and customizable

  • Investment - Note: this document is not an official investment document where certain things can and cannot be said.

    • This is a small investment for just a few people and not a public offering. Maximum investment for ease of starting and assuring 100% chance of success is $500,000. Payback on sales of anything over $1 million per year can be very lucrative. Again, any promises or statements in this document are not meant as a legal offering.
  • Note on manufacturing investment - Software currently is the popular investment. Manufacturing return takes longer and, in general, not very well understood. On the other hand, manufacturing is much more interesting and longer lasting with much lower risk. A type of investment financial advisers will find comfortable and fits in well with America's future.
  • Exit strategy

    • I'm not sure why any investor would want to leave: this is a fun part of manufacturing and could lead to many interesting connections: something to retire to. A related issue is bring in new partners as us old guys fade away.
  • Market- Collectors of memorabilia throughout the world.

    • Sports Market
      • low-end mass market productshigh-end customized products that may be described as furniture.
    • Entertainment Market - entry is in 2017
      • Marilyn Monroe and James Dean, The Wizard of Oz, Starwars,- are creating a large market separate from sports.
  • Market size - large and growing.

    • Each year a new crop of sports enthusiasts emerges out of the young. People are not only interested in sports, additionally entertainment memorabilia grows. Larger population: larger market.Even with difficult economic conditions sports memorabilia is such a large market we would be profitable with 50% market shrinkage.
  • Possible licensing agreements with sports teams and leagues

  • Competition

  • Product Types

    • display units for desks and walls made from wood, plastic, metal, and paper. Some will be simple and come in kits for assembly for wholesaleHigh-end products are furniture.
  • Websites

    • Wholesale and custom retail websites are in-house creations. I have 15 years experience writing websites for e-commerce with complete automation.
  • Advances in technology

    • important for creating and making repeatable products. With technologies like 3D printing and NC machinery prototypes are easily made working the same as final production products making sales presentations to distributors and end customers possible without high expense. As an engineer I keep up-to-date on all these technologies.
  • Design and other services

    • All activities from product design to delivery are in-house.
    • Also in-house are e-newsletters, advertising, design, stocking and shipping, etc.
  • Profitability
